Why does Montag seek help from Faber? Who is he?When does Montag believe his “numbness” began? What is his “numbness”? Recount Montag’s flashback of the sieve and the sand.
Guy wants to read books and he knows Faber is a retired English teacher. He wants Faber to help him find books. Montag believes the numbness began in his face. I think his numbness is him going back in his flashbacks. The sieve and sand: Montag says once as a child he tried to fill a sieve with sand because his cousin told him he would geet a dime if he did it.
Guy Montag goes to Faber who is and old English teacher to show him the Book he took What turns out to be the Bible and may well be the last one in existence to ask him and question him about why he wants to read and why hes been so unhappy and Faber tells Guy that its not the books hes looking for but the meaning they contain Montag says once as a chinld his cousin told him if he filled a sieve with sand get a dime.
