  1. "it was a special pleasure to see things eaten,to see things blackened and changed." I picked this quote because it adds a sense of imagery to the story - James Mayhew

  2. "so many people are afraid of firemen, I mean. But your just a man after all..." this quote is controversial because in todays time firefighters are looked at as heroes and saviors where as in the book they are feared- Cameron Davidson, Ryan volentine

  3. "The autumn leaves blew over the moonlit pavement in such a way as to make the girl who was moving there seem fixed to a sliding walk, letting the motion of the wind and the leaves carry her forward." I decided to pick this quote because it kind of serves as a base for the story and it starts to introduce the reader to the girl, Clarisse, who plays an important role early in the stroy. - Dustin Lydecker

  4. "Do you ever read any of the books you burn?" He laughed. "Thats against the law!" This shows that the general public does not think for themselves and that they are blind and they do whatever the government tells them as if they don't have their own free will- Cameron Davidson, Ryan volentine

  5. 1. "One of them slid down into your stomach like a black cobra down an echoing well looking for all the old waterand the old time gathered there."
-I chose this because it is comparing the machines to the black cobra. It's an eample of simile.
    2. "I'm seventeen and I'm crazy. My uncle says the two always go together."
-This gives us an insight to Clarisse's personality.
    3. "It was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed."
-This shows how in the future firemen are different than firemen now.
    4. "What a shame you aren't in love with anyone." "Yes, I am."
-This shows that Montag might like Clarisse.
    5. "Are you happy?"
    "Am I what?"
-This shows that Montag might not be as happy as he seems.
